From techno lover to 20-year DJing legend; known for OUTHOUSE nights, now shaping Subliminal alongside John Devlin.
Bob Mitchell is originally from Bridge of Allan and has now been dj’ing for more than 20 years.
He was first hooked on dance music after hearing early techno and rave music. After realising he was no good at dancing he decided to get into dj’ing (thats his story anyway!). Getting his first set of decks at 15, and first residency at 16 it was the start of a long love affair with dance music and dj’ing.
Over the years he has also worked for FOPP records and Virgin so he knows a good tune when he hears one and has built up a enviable collection of vinyl. He is best known as the saturday night resident at the infamous “OUTHOUSE” nightclub with his “GIVE ME BOB” nights which ran for nearly 8 years at the Meadowpark in Stirling. Over his long career he has played some of the best (and worst!) clubs in Scotland. Nothing makes him happier than being behind a set of decks and sharing his love of music.
Appearances include gigs at The Arches, Fubar Club, City, Stereofunk, Lorenzo’s, Keller Club, 69 Below, Tartan Techno, Harlem, and many more.
He has a passion for the harder sound of dance music which comes from his love of early rave and hardcore. These days his style is funky/tech house and since joining Subliminal has helped support John Devlin and the team in moving the brand forward.
The partnership has been well received and John and Bob can normally be found playing back to back at events.
He is looking forward to see what the future holds for the Brand and entertaining people for a few more years to come!
